Dans ce livre, réalisé suite à notre série Murs-Murs (1996), l'artiste écrit : « La peupleraie, c’est un lieu dans lequel la lumière pénètre comme dans une cathédrale, lumière douce et régulière, tournant imperceptiblement sur elle même du matin jusqu’au soir. Son espace est défini de la façon la plus rigoureuse qui soit, par la plantation des arbres : Ils sont disposés parallèlement, mais forment aussi des diagonales parfaites. C’est un espace mathématique d’une grande précision, dans lequel peuvent s’user les pieds d’un arpenteur… »
