Xinyi Cheng
First time with Xinyi Cheng, and her first time doing monotype.
She discovers one can get fairly painterly.
Xinyi has developed a large palet of colors to work from. All printing ink.
She produced nearly a dozen pieces right before Christmas.
Poetry night with Fabienne Raphoz, Lisa Robertson and Jennifer Scappetone
December 16 was a night to be remembered. Three poets took the floor and bewildered the audience.
Another Double Change collaboration.
Fabienne Raphoz
Lisa Robertson with two of her literary collaborators.
Robertson's intervention went from English to French to singing at times.
Jennifer Scappetone
She also read from a cryptic visual poem projected on the wall.
Abdelkader Benchamma
Rayon Fossile, a huge solo exhibit by Abdelkader Benchamma in Avignon in the beautiful Collection Lambert museum. A shot of one of the main spaces with his in situ work.
The artist during opening in front of one of our lithographs, Ghost Airship.
He will often hang his drawings and continue to work the wall from there.
Meanwhile in Paris, he hung a particular show in an ad agency's space just with our lithographs he made hand interventions on.
Suzy Murphy
London based Irish painter, Suzy Murphy has arrived in town to perform large format monotypes for the London Lyndsey Ingram Gallery.
A color monotype which once back in her studio, she'll continue to paint on.
The black and white images however must work in one session.
A grueling three day stint which began on the floor.
And ended on a table. 11 were produced and carried back to London.

Our first participation in a Spanish fair in 17 years brought us to Bilbao for several days. Four pieces by Miquel Mont proudly hanging.
An overall view of fair.
Poetry night with Liliane Giraudon and Thalia Field
Our first poetry evening since pre-covid, a collaboration with Double Change, kicked off November 16 with brilliant Liliane Giraudon and followed by American author Thalia Field.
Liliane read from her upcoming book published by P.O.L.
Thalia Field opens the second half.
A team of French literary students had rehearsed and help translate several of her her perfomative pieces.
Barthélémy Toguo
A commissioned piece for a private company specialized in hearing research asked the Cameroun artist and the shop to produce an edition of 100. Toguo came up with the idea to carve in linoleum a rendering of African instrument, the bombolong. It carries sound furthest than any other and can be heard miles away, from one village to another.
Barthélémy Toguo signs his linocut edition. It was a pleasure to collaborate together again.
Gérard Gwezenneg
A diehard weathered artist in etching came to us from his retreat in the Cherbourg area for a special project he could not do alone. 80 year old Gérard Gwezenneg asked to print a small edition of these large tondos at 10 copies each: aluminum plates used to protect cinema film he recovered from a movie theatre in Cherbourg and then etched in drypoint.
The artist oversees the printing team and joins them at times which adds up to 6 to 8 hands at once.
An experienced etching printmaker, Bich Rosalie Nguyen was asked to join us for the occasion. She had met years before Gwezenneg and was familiar with his style.
Julien Torhy, Bich Rosalie Nguyen, Gérard Gwezenneg and Max Cassagnes, hard at one of the 3 tondos.
It was a grand success and everyone posed for a photo-op.
The artist even got a special kiss.

Left: main printer for project, Paul Moragues. Center: the sculptor. Right: Gilles Kraemer, the go to person in the bibliophile society responsible for financing and publication.
Othoniel & Moragues
The sculptor discovers for first time the book really really finished.
And subsequently starts to sign and number each copy.
Michael Woolworth jeers at camera during verification session of each copy before assembling.
The assembly line with four people putting each book together. Its not bound so we're the ones in charge of getting it right.

Gilgian Gelzer
This month of June has produced one of our latest spectacular bodies of work. Gilgian Gelzer came in for two weeks to take over the whole shop, and all its crew and presses. The result was 11 serial pieces in three different formats, and 14 unique pieces.
And he carved his magic into more than a dozen planks of wood.
The team included 4 young interns, students from various schools. Here, Lisa Prudent and Louise Faure passing the roller on one of Gelzer's plates, under the supervision of Julien Torhy.
Gelzer employed three or four tools to place his line drawing in the wood. Here, the chainsaw. Others were the etching point or the electric dremel.
He accepted the proposition to create his images solely through the mind bender technique of reduction printing or 'bois perdu'.
Paul Moragues spreads a yellow.
Lisa Prudent and Mathilde Burg with Moragues.
Manon Gorteau assists Moragues.
Julien Torhy in hot discussion about the next color choice.
Gilgian takes a step back to understand the whirlwind he's created.
The sessions were so exciting, everyone seems in a dizzy state.
The artist in action with the Dremel.
One of the first strategy meetings.
A zen moment to gain courage.
The tech team would quickly place on the wall the first new results.
A color check with Paul Moragues.
This what we started with: A pile of wood, a stack of paper, and a heap of ink.
This image was posted on social network and someone asked us if we were building a closet.

Paul Collins
A happy artist on signing day.
Pierre di Sciullo and Marielle Paul
The two artists take a long look at their final version.
Pierre di Sciullo shows everyone, including Pompidou Center curator, Frédéric Paul, his stencil sheet used for the project.
Pierre et Michael ponder during work session.
A blasted mess. We're redoing the kitchen.
Julien, up on sink, is a top printer, but also a wonderful cook for us every day, and now he's improving, with Paul Moragues and I, our kitchen layout.
We've probably been talking about doing this for six years now.
Mélanie Delattre-Vogt
Mélanie, occupies the front space out of harm's way, and peacefully makes forward progress on her new wonderful compositions.
The secret to a good Delattre-Vogt piece is the pencil sharpening technique.
Brecht Evens
Brecht, happy to show you his accomplishment.
At peace, wittingly away a woodcut in front of his 'Wall of Wonders'.
More wittiling, but at an earlier stage in the month.
Jean François Maurige
Jean François Maurige is back with new ambitions.
Quite complex to rig, so we're studying it carefully.
Pierre di Sciullo and Marielle Paul
The two artists smiling for the camera.

Blaise Drummond
The start of everything is making a little mock book of images prepared by Drummond for our first artist book project. And we start seeing how it flows.
Peter Soriano
The Colissimo series is getting signed. Our most ambitious project to date.
Six different original lithographs between 11 and 30 copies.
Paul Collins
The artist ponders over the hopeful outcome of the future piece.

Paul Collins preps his composition by painting gum arabic in the future blank areas as a mask.
Collins pushing ink through his glued on grid with 'pochoir' brush. Mélanie Delattre-Vogt behind him on Day One of her new series: Women with dogs. And all the way in the back, Brecht Evens thinking what to do.
Mïrka Lugosi and Frédérique Loutz
Loutz starting her new animal series and Mïrka, adding some graphite touches to 3rd version of our spaceship.
Mïrka Lugosi well concentrated, and surrounded by Othoniel gold leaf paintings, Miquel Mont proofs, and Delattre-Vogt's fresh stones.
Maude Maris
A big day for us and painter, Maude Maris, as she signs all of our finished editions (6 in all) of her series Liminaires. Always a special moment.
Armelle De Sainte Marie

Paul Moragués shows intern Milton Mondal how to work as a team for resurfacing litho stones.
We installed these three stones in Claire Chesnier's studio as she ambitions long drawing seances, a recent development in her all over covering style.
Miquel Mont
Miquel Mont with last minute corrections on his new 45 rpm cover designs.
This time he selected strictly from Flamenco music, old and new.
Paul Collins
Our first project completed with artist Paul Collins, two original lithographs with added stamp elements. Always a moment for the books.

Frédérique Loutz
Frédérique Loutz has returned to up the ante and confront a large format in color.
She tries to take advantage of lessons learned from previous images in 2020.
A larger size brings its lot of challenge and questioning.
Before starting the new piece, she finishes pastel work on each proof of Tulipes that were never completed.
An edition of 20, first printed in multi-color lithography, then finished on each proof by hand.
Brecht Evens
Brecht Evens is spending quite some time with us. A shot of him with the tech team who are trying to keep up with him.
Brecht Evens shows printer Julien Torhy and assistant Elsa Dupont some ideas needed to be corrected.
The artist in full swing on new compositions.
He is making new images for his future book which will be scanned and integrated into the scenario.
Once we see what we have in terms of images, we'll publish a set for sale before the trade edition book published by Actes Sud comes out.
Farhad Ostovani
Longtime customer, Farhad Ostovani, is back to pose his leaf composition on stone.
The Iranian painter needs several copies of his leaves and branches on specific Japanese papers for a collage project he will begin soon in his atelier.
He has used the printed matter of his work before to make unique pieces, playing with repetition of forms in collage.
Stéphane Pencréac'h
A stop over at the Bastille to test new ideas on copies of future book extravaganza, Le pouvoir.
Printing has advanced well, but production is still far from finishing line.
'Madame'
A local private cultural cultural club has commissioned street artist 'Madame' to produce an original litho.
Sales from print will support their action in the neighborhood.
The artist collages on each print tears in red.
The neighborhood project is to ask a street artist to occupy this wall over the optician's shop, a block away from our studio.. The mural was finished yesterday and the two lithographers, responsible for editioning her piece, pose under the fresh wall.
A quarterly project of 4 artists a year.

Pierre Mabille
A smiling artist finished signing a set of 8 lithographs we unearthed during fist lockdown that had been editioned in 2002 and forgot about. The project Ondée now sees the light of day, and has its world premiere in current solo show at his gallery Jean Fournier in Paris.
Mïrka Lugosi
Master drawer Mïrka Lugosi finished signing her yearlong piece, Paysage avec une soucoupe. A long process.
Winter has arrived in full force.
Peter Soriano
Artist peeks at the camera.
Much concentration and process goes into Soriano's new ambitions.
6 or 7 new compositions have begun for an ETA early Spring.
Both drawing on mylar,
and on stone.
Family portrait. Tech team with artist.
How to make litho ink flow onto stone in twelve steps.
Catherine Viollet
We haven't worked with Catherine Viollet since the early 90's.
But she has come back at us with enough of a daunting task to make up for those lost years. A 4 x 4 meter frottage to print on 3 separate long sheets.
